Product No: DF1-1193
This antique olive jar comes from western Anatolia and was crafted for storing and preserving olives and oil during the harvest months. Its generous, rounded body and narrow neck were shaped to keep the contents cool and sealed, while the thick terracotta walls retain the warmth and the kiln's markings. Decorative ridges circle the vessel in soft relief, a detail typical of the region’s working pottery.
The surface has aged beautifully — rich earthen tones, traces of lime, and the natural patina that forms after decades of use. A substantial, sculptural piece that embodies both function and quiet grandeur.
