Description: This antique olive jar originates from western Anatolia, where it once held olives and oil. The rim has darkened over time from repeated use and sealing, leaving a distinctive blackened edge against the warm clay. Its tall, tapering form and rounded shoulders were made for balance and easy transport, while the surface shows the gentle marks of firing and handling — proof of a life well used.
Now converted in the UK into a table lamp, its full-bodied shape and broad shoulders create a solid, weighty presence. The aged terracotta surface brings depth and character, working naturally alongside both classic and more pared-back interiors
