This terracotta pot was once used for storing olive oil, made in western Turkey using the region’s distinctive red clay. The upper section was glazed to seal the surface and stop the oil from seeping into the clay — a practical detail that now gives the pot its rich amber tone and gentle sheen. The lower half remains unglazed, its raw surface showing soft variations from firing and age.
Today, it’s admired for its natural warmth and balance — perfect for English countryside, cottage, and Mediterranean-style interiors. Style it with dried stems or leave it unfilled to appreciate its simple, classic form.
