Made in Aydın, western Turkey, this terracotta pot was once used for storing olive oil. The upper rim is finished in a soft caramel glaze, a traditional feature of the region’s pottery, while the body remains unglazed — the clay warm, tactile, and full of quiet variation. Firing and time have given it subtle tones of sand and honey with small, natural imperfections across the surface.
It’s an easy piece to live with — classic in shape and gentle in colour — suited to English countryside, cottage, or Mediterranean-style interiors. Use it for dried stems or branches, or let it stand on its own for its shape and earthy tone.
