This antique storage jar originates from central Anatolia, where dense local clay was fired in open kilns that burned hot and uneven. The heat darkened the surface to a deep charcoal tone, leaving pale mineral flecks and lighter patches where the flame caught. Once used for storing oil and grain, it retains the weight and stillness of working pottery.
Now converted in the UK into a lamp, its dark, smoke-baked finish gives it a quiet, sculptural presence — strong, grounded, and elemental.
Lamp Base Only: Shade not included.
Brass Fittings: Will develop a natural patina over time.
Handle with Care: Lift by the base, not the brass riser.
