Large Fired Earth Armenian Terracotta Lamp

Hand-thrown in Armenia, this terracotta vessel was made for storing water and provisions. Its full, rounded body and softly narrowing neck give it a settled, balanced form, while the surface shows the natural effects of firing and use — darker areas from heat, softer wear from handling over time.

Now converted in the UK into a table lamp, it has a quiet weight to it. The scale and proportion are what carry it, making it well-suited to side tables, consoles and sideboards.
