From southern Turkey’s Cilician region, this antique double-handled pot was traditionally used for storing olive oil. Hand-thrown in dense red clay and pit-fired over open flames, it shows a natural gradient from warm terracotta through to smoky black — a result of the firing process that gives each vessel its own tone and depth.
The surface carries a dry, mineral texture with light traces of ash and natural variation that together form a timeless Mediterranean patina. It’s a statement piece with quiet presence — simple, solid, and steeped in history. Perfect for English countryside homes, cottages, and rustic farmhouse interiors, where earthy materials and old-world character bring warmth and depth.
