This tall terracotta jar comes from southern Turkey, where it was used to store grains and dried goods through the harvest season. The elongated form — narrow at the base, broad through the middle — was designed for stability and easy handling, while its unglazed surface reveals soft variations in tone from years of use and open firing.
The clay has aged to a warm, even patina with subtle traces of pale mineral bloom, giving the piece a quiet depth and authenticity.
