This antique terracotta jar originates from southern Turkey, where it was once used to store grain. Made by hand from coarse local clay and fired in open kilns, it has a broad body and low handles that made it easy to lift and move when filled. The surface shows soft firing marks and pale mineral traces from years of use and storage.
Now converted in the UK into a table lamp, it remains solid and practical — a piece that still carries the quiet utility it was made for.
