From southern Turkey’s Adana region, this antique terracotta pot was once used for storing grains and dried goods. Hand-thrown in coarse red clay, it was pit-fired over open flames, giving the surface its rich earthen tone and darkened base. The clay has naturally aged over time, showing faint traces of ash, mineral bloom, and a soft, timeless Mediterranean patina.
Its wide shoulders and sturdy double handles reflect its practical, working purpose, yet the form feels quietly sculptural.
Bring warmth and authenticity to English countryside homes, cottages, and rustic farmhouse interiors. Style with dried branches, or leave bare to highlight its raw texture and natural colour.
