Product No: DF1-1182
Description:
This antique olive jar originates from western Anatolia, where it was used to store oil and grains through the harvest months. The upper section was coated with a glossy amber glaze to protect its contents, while the lower body remained unglazed, allowing it to breathe. Fired in open kilns, the clay shows soft gradations of heat and smoke, fading from golden ochre to deep earthen brown. The handles are worn smooth from handling — a mark of its long life in daily use.
A quiet, timeworn piece that holds both purpose and presence.
