Hand-thrown in western Turkey, this terracotta vessel was used to store grains and household provisions; its narrow neck helped control pouring and protect its contents, while the full, rounded body provided volume and stability.

Now converted in the UK into a table lamp, its scale and generous proportions make it best suited to larger surfaces — consoles, sideboards or entry tables — where it can properly hold its own.
